HOW DO I GET MY CDL?

The first step to getting your CDL is to take the written test and obtain your CDL permit. The test can be taken at any local drivers license station. Study booklets are free at those locations.

WHAT PART OF THE TEST DO I TAKE?

For Class A CDL you need to take three parts which include, General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles and Air Brakes. For Class B CDL you will need General Knowledge and Air Brakes.

WHAT DO I DO AFTER PASSING THE TESTS?

After you have your permit call American CDL Training (660-254-2541) and we will make an appointment with the Missouri Highway Patrol for your test date.

I DO NOT LIVE IN MISSOURI. CAN I TAKE THE TEST THERE?

Yes -If you are out of state you can still take your written test in the state where you live and do the driving test in Missouri. You will be required to buy a Missouri CDL because the test is in Missouri. The cost is $95.00. Then you take the Missouri CDL to your home state and trade it in for a license in your state. You will need a certified birth certificate. This a 911 rule.
